Posts' big day

Countries around the world celebrated World Post Day on 9 October 2011. Posts invite the public to visit postal facilities, organize ceremonies and exhibitions, issue new stamps and products, recognize postal employees for excellent quality of service, and much more. Here's a smattering of activities organized throughout the world. Charlée Gittens, from Barbados, and Wang Sa, from China, joint winners of the UPU's 2011 international letter-writing competition, received their prizes in ceremonies held in their respective countries.
