Statement by the Director General of the Universal Postal Union

25.02.2020 - UPU announces resumption of international postal exchanges between Qatar and the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Background:

On 29 January 2020, at the Universal Postal Union’s headquarters in Berne Switzerland, representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates met with Bishar A. Hussein, the Director General of the Universal Postal Union. 

The representatives discussed the necessary arrangements aimed at ensuring the continuation of international postal exchanges between the countries concerned. All countries were invited to provide a response before 21 February 2020 and have now agreed to resume the postal exchanges.
